Classic Apple Birthday Cake

May 17th was on its way into the books as another birthday; but after the cards, gifts and dinner there was one surprise to top them all. A Mac birthday cake fit for King Jobs himself!

My girlfriend, Ashley, is known to be a wizard in the kitchen, as my ever expanding waist proves, but she out did herself today! I should have know something was up when I was banished to the back room to watch my new Matrix Blu-ray box set for most of the day. Now that I think about it, I think that early gift was all part of the plan. This also explains why there is no recipe to share; sorry. Some of the ingredients were four boxes of cake mix and 12 boxes of confectioners sugar. I will have to get her to write up a complete list. With my eyes covered, I was guided into the kitchen and there it was in all its Macintosh goodness. I was in shock. It was amazing!

Later she told me about the five hour process and gave me the camera with photos to prove she actually made it from scratch. My favorite part of the story is when she mentioned how she thought about leaving the white fondant to “maintain the Mac atheistic.” Are you freaking kidding me?!?! Fanboys everywhere are wiping a tear for that line. Ashley did tell me that she has been planning for over a month and that she could not find any other cakes like it online. So I am writing this post to not only thank Ashley again for making the best birthday cake ever, but to share her build with other girlfriends/wives of Mac fanboys. Now I have to convince myself to cut into it!
