Well it’s official. The iPhone 3G S will be released on Friday, June 19th. My trusty bought-on-first-day 1st Gen iPhone is still going strong, but with my contract coming up for renewal the timing could not be better for the upgrade. I am really excited about the Tom Tom GPS app and the improved camera with video capabilities. The internal speed boost (no official specs released yet) looks to also be great. Now I am a little hesident about what AT&T might charge me in data service fees. I got used to the $20 a month that included 200 texts. My fingers are crossed that AT&T does not screw me or anybody else. Apple did make a couple jabs at the US carrier when talking about MMS and tethering. I hope that got the hint!
I am sure more juicy details will come as we get closer to the release date. So be sure to check out Engadget and Macworld.
And since I am a sucker for ads, here is the new iPhone 3G S spot.
